TULSA, Okla. -- All six members of the University of Oklahoma men's tennis team have been selected to compete in the qualifying for the Polo Ralph Lauren Men's ITA All-American Championships hosted by the University of Tulsa, Sept. 29 through Oct. 7.
Rob McKenzie, Sergey Avdeyev and Ryan Thomas will be competing in the men's singles pre-qualifying tournament scheduled for Sept. 29 and Sept. 30.
Vaclav Kucera, Andrei Daescu and Federico Chavarria were selected for the men's singles qualifying Oct. 1 through Oct. 3.
In doubles play, Daescu and Chavarria will team up in the main draw and will compete Oct. 4 through Oct. 7. In addition, Kucera and McKenzie will compete in doubles qualifying Oct. 2 and Oct. 3.
Three matches must be won in each round (singles and doubles) to advance to the following round.
The singles and doubles main draw will take place Oct. 4 and will run through Oct. 7. The singles draw will have 64 players competing. 48 at-large and wild card selections and 16 players from the qualifying tournament will compete in singles. 32 doubles teams will compete with 24 at-large and wild card selections and eight teams from the qualifying tournament competing.
