Men's Tennis Competes in Waco

NORMAN, Okla. -- Two Univeristy of Oklahoma men's tennis players competed in the opening round of the H.E.B Baylor Intercollegiate Friday.

Andrei Daescu, seeded No. 15 in the tournament, defeated Ed Corrie 7-5, 6-0 and Tiago Espirito Santo 6-2, 6-3 in the opening round of the A draw.

Rob McKenzie was defeated in the opening round by Denes Lukas 6-2, 6-0 and Christian Rojmar 6-3, 7-6.

In the doubles draw, Daescu and McKenzie defeated Atilla Bucko and Jordan Rux 8-6 and later defeated Chrisitian Coetzee and Tomas Liversage 8-2.

Both players resume competition tomorrow in the singles and doubles draw.

Following the H.E.B. Baylor Intercollegiate, the Sooners will continue their fall schedule on the road when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., for the ITA All-American Championship pre-qualifying, on Sept. 29.
