NORMAN, Okla. - Jeff Capel opened the practice gym doors Tuesday afternoon, allowing the public to view the OU men's basketball team's near two-and-a-half-hour workout.
After a brief video session in the team meeting room, the Sooners participated in a spirited and intense practice that featured ample full-court scrimmaging. The highlight of the day was turned in by freshman forward Blake Griffin, who nearly reached the rim with his head on a two-handed follow slam over a pair of opponents early during the scrimmage.
Tuesday marked the team's seventh practice since it started workouts on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
Oklahoma is preparing for a trip to Vancouver, British Columbia, where it will play four exhibition games over a three-day span this weekend. The Sooners will take on the University of British Columbia on Saturday (9 p.m. CT), will visit Simon Fraser (2 p.m. CT) and Trinity Western (10 p.m. CT) on Sunday, and will face Douglas College on Monday (11 a.m. CT) before returning to Oklahoma later that day.
