OU Run Ends at 107th U.S. Amateur

NORMAN, Okla. -- Former OU golfers Justin Fraley and J.J. Wood were eliminated from the 107th U.S. Amateur on Wednesday after failing to finish among the top 64 players and ties who moved on to the match play portion of the event.
Fraley and Wood both finished at 16-over-par and in 218th at The Olympic Club in San Fransico, Calif. The two-round stroke play portion of the event was being held at both of The Olympic Club's venues - the par-70, 6,948-yard Lakeside Course and the 6,786-yard, par-70 Ocean Course.
Fraley shot 76 in round one at the Lakeside venue before a 10-over-par 80 in round two on the Ocean Course. Wood rebounded from an opening-round 83 on the Lakeside Course by shooting 73 on day two at the Ocean Course.
After the 36-hole stroke play portion, 75 players in the 315-player field moved on to match play as the cut was set at +7.
Today's match play round can be seen on The Golf Channel from 5:30-8:30 p.m. CDT while tomorrow's quarterfinals will be aired from 8:30-10:30 p.m. CDT on the same network. Saturday's semifinals and Sunday's match play final will air on NBC from 4-6 p.m. CDT.
