FORT WORTH, Texas -- After a two hour and 20 minute rain delay, the Sooners never got things rolling on Tuesday in an 11-4 loss to TCU at Lupton Stadium. The game marked the first midweek defeat for OU this season as it dropped to 25-14 overall.
TCU scored five runs in the second inning and five more in the fifth as the Horned Frogs outhit the Sooners 14-9 to improve to 28-9 overall. The Horned Frogs, ranked No. 27 by Collegiate Baseball, have won seven straight games, all coming after the last meeting with OU in Norman, and 19 in-a-row at Lupton Stadium dating back to last year.
“I don't like to make excuses but we looked like a tired club tonight,” said OU head coach Sunny Golloway. “With that said, I have confidence we will fight back this weekend and turn things around.”

Burns (1-1) lasted one inning before giving way to Matt Lovelady (two earned runs), Joseph Hughes (two earned runs), Andrew Doyle (three earned runs) and Nich Conaway (two earned runs).
OU mounted a comeback in the fifth inning after scoring one run, its first, in the third off Aaron Reza' run-scoring single.
A TCU wild pitch brought home the Sooners' second run of the game in the fifth frame. Brandon Moss helped cut the lead in half after driving in a run on a ground out to the first baseman. With two outs and two runners on base, Joe Dunigan and OU had a chance to tie the game but a ground out halted the rally.
That was the last chance for the Sooners who, after narrowing the lead to three runs, surrendered five runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Tyler Lockwood earned the win for TCU and improved to 3-2 with three innings of scoreless relief.
Aaron Reza and Aaron Ivey led the Sooners offensively with two hits apiece. The two base knocks for Reza marked his team-leading 15th multiple-hit game of the season.
Jimmy Rollins was the sixth OU pitcher used on the night and the left-hander finished off TCU with 3 1/3 innings of scoreless work.
The Sooners will look to snap the current three-game losing streak this weekend when they return to action against Kansas State. The series is slated to begin on Friday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. The series continues on Saturday at 2 p.m. and will conclude on Sunday at 1 p.m.
