NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 23 Oklahoma Sooners won game one of Saturday's doubleheader, 3-0, at L. Dale Mitchell Park. Stephen Porlier tossed the first complete game of his career with nine innings of four-hit ball.
The win improves OU's overall record to 25-11 and 5-5 in Big 12 play. Nebraska was shut out for the second time this season and fell to 20-14 and 5-8.
The last time OU shut out Nebraska was on May 11, 1994. The Sooners won that contest, 4-0, in Lincoln.
Ryan Mottern put OU on the board with a run-scoring double in the fourth inning. The Sooners tagged on insurance runs in the sixth and eighth innings as Porlier struck out six batters and did not surrender a walk.

The performance ended Porlier's three-game losing streak and the Sooners' four-game skid in the series opener of three-game sets.
The Sooners and Cornhuskers are currently playing game two of today's doubleheader and are scheduled to conclude the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
