FRISCO, Texas -- The No. 20 Oklahoma Sooners (18-6) edged Dallas Baptist (13-10), 9-7, on Tuesday at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas.  OU was led offensively by Aljay Davis and Jackson Williams, who each had two hits and three RBIs.

The Sooners, who are a perfect 6-0 in midweek games this season, have won three straight games and 16 of the last 18.

“This was a good win for us because Dallas Baptist was a good club,” OU coach Sunny Golloway said. “It's important for us to continue to win mid-week games, because it sets us to be successful in the Big 12 and helps improve our RPI when the postseason rolls around.”

Once the Sooners built a 6-0 lead after their at-bat in the top of the sixth inning, the Patriots made things interesting with three runs in the bottom of the sixth, two in the seventh and two more in the ninth.  But the Sooners' bullpen, led by Nich Conaway's three strikeouts, did enough to hold the DBU offense at bay as Garrett Richards recorded his Big-12 leading seventh save.

Ryan Mottern earned the win with four strikeouts and only allowed one hit to improve to 3-2.  Jeremy Parrish (0-1) took the loss for the Patriots with four earned runs allowed on four hits and two walks over the first 3 1/3 innings.

OU returns to Norman to begin Big 12 play with No. 16 Texas A&M (20-3 overall, 2-1 Big 12) over the weekend.  The three-game set begins on Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m. and continues Saturday at 3 p.m.  The series will conclude on Sunday, March 25 at 1 p.m.
