Norman, Okla.- The women's tennis team heads to Arkansas Friday to play the first of three matches on the road.

The Sooners head into Friday's match coming off a strong season opener.  On Monday Feb., 5 the Sooners swept Oklahoma Baptist University in two duals.

In the first dual, where they played singles only, OU won 6-0.  In the second dual of the afternoon where the two teams competed in both singles and doubles Oklahoma won 7-0.

Junior Gabby Baker, who did not play against OBU due to her knee, is projected to be back to play against Arkansas.

“It is a day to day thing at this point,” said head coach Mark Johnson.  “At this point she is good to go for Friday.”

Oklahoma and Arkansas have not met since 1995, the year after the Lady'Backs moved to the Southeastern Conference.  In dual meets against Arkansas, Oklahoma has the edge with 11 wins compared to the Lady'Backs 10.

The Sooners will face Arkansas Friday at 1:00.  The Oklahoma men's tennis team will face off with the Razorbacks immediately following at 5 p.m.

The Sooners will then head to Tulsa and Alabama before heading home for their first home match at Headington Family Tennis Center on March 1.
