NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma wrestling squad hits the road once again to take on the defending Division II national champions from The University of Central Oklahoma at Hamilton Field House in Edmond on Friday, Dec. 7.

The match between the Sooners (4-1) and Bronchos (0-1) is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Last season, the Sooners edged UCO in Norman by a final score of 20-18. Both teams recorded five victories, but Oklahoma took the win after racking up more team points with two technical falls and a major decision in the dual.

OU has competed in four of its first five duals away from Norman to begin the season. The Sooners do not return home until Jan. 12 for a double-dual versus Michigan State and Pittsburgh.

"This road stretch is making our team stronger and is preparing us for later on in the season," head coach Jack Spates said. "Our guys are expected to step up on the road and perform well, so it's good experience for this young team."

The squad will look to bounce back with a win after dropping the first Big 12 dual of the 2007-08 campaign to Oklahoma State last Sunday in Stillwater.

"We weren't satisfied with our overall performance against Oklahoma State," Spates said. "We have put it behind us and we look forward to improving and getting back on track this Friday against a great UCO squad."

After the trip to Edmond, Oklahoma will break for the holidays before heading to Arlington, Texas, for the Lonestar Duals on Jan. 5.
