Ragan Signs One in Early Period

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma men's golf coach Jim Ragan announced today the signing of Jon (Trey) Sullivan to a National Letter of Intent. The Aledo, Texas, native joins the Sooners for the 2008-2009 season.

"We are looking forward to having Trey join our team," Ragan said. "He has proven himself as one of the top prep golfers in Texas and I expect great things out of him at The University of Oklahoma."

Sullivan has led his team to three-straight top-five finishes at the state championship, including the team title last season after rounds of 71 and 69. He earned medalist honors at the district championship in `06, leading Aledo to a sweep of the district, regional and state crowns his junior season.

Other notable finishes include a win at the Aledo Mortiz Invitational last March and top-three finishes at the Southern Junior Championship, the Bart Granger Memorial, the Chad Campbell Championship and the AJGA Ft. Worth, Texas, Championship. Off the course,

Sullivan holds a 3.5 GPA with a 1580 SAT and has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Fort Worth Zoo and the Union Gospel Mission.

"Trey is the epitome of someone you want in your program," added Ragan. "He puts 100 percent into everything he does on and off the golf course."
