Daescu Victorious in Second Round

TULSA, Okla. -- Andrei Daescu defeated Sebastian Serrano of East Tennessee State, 6-4, 6-3, in the second round of qualifying at the 2007 Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

Daescu, advances to the third round Wednesday at the Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa where he will face Bram Ten Berge of Mississippi, at 11 a.m.

With a victory, Daescu would qualify for the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships. The singles main draw will take place Oct. 4 and will run through Oct. 7. The singles draw will have 64 players competing. 48 at-large and wild card selections and 16 players from the qualifying tournament will compete in singles.

Three matches must be won in each round (singles and doubles) to advance to the following round.
