NORMAN, Okla. -- The OU men's golf squad seeks its first tourney title since the `06 Big 12 Championships when it hosts the second annual Oklahoma Intercollegiate at the par-71, 7417-yard Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, Okla., Oct. 14-16.
The 54-hole event features a field of 11 teams that includes four squads ranked in the top 35 in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches poll.
"We are excited about the strong field assembled and look to see where we stack up against some of the top teams in the nation," said head coach Jim Ragan. "The course is in tremendous shape, which you would expect from such a prestigious venue such as Oak Tree, and we are anxious to get the tournament started."
Eighteen-hole rounds will be played Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, with each commencing at 9 a.m. CT.

The OU lineup will feature Eric Durbin, Phillip Bryan, Jesse Schutte, Tyler Rody and Ben Blundell.
Durbin has recorded top-20 showings in both fall tournaments for the Sooners, highlighted by a tournament-opening 7-under-par 64 at the Scenic City Invitational last month.
Also competing for Oklahoma as individuals are Liam Logan, Cameron Meyers, Spencer Rives and Ryan Sirman.
Oak Tree has played host to many illustrious events, including the 2006 Senior PGA Championship and the 1988 PGA Championship.
Tulsa won the team title last year while Golden Hurricane golfer Sam Korbe won medalist honors.
Oklahoma has recorded top-five finishes in both of its fall tournaments.
"Leading up to this event, we have played some outstanding golf in our qualifying rounds and hope that those scores carry over to this event," added Ragan. "Playing on such a demanding course such as Oak Tree will test all the competitors and we hope that our familiarity with the venue will give us an added advantage."
