NORMAN, Okla. - As the Oklahoma women's tennis team begins it's fall season SoonerSports.com took a moment to get acquainted with freshman Ana-Maria Constantinescu. A native of Bucharest, Romania, she was a two-time singles champion and a seven time runner-up in singles play at the Provincial Championships.

Constantinescu made her college debut at the Colorado Invitational in Boulder, Colo., the weekend of Sept. 29, going undefeated until the finals where she fell to senior teammate Chelsea Orr in three sets.

SS: What is your favorite thing about Norman so far?

AMC: The campus. I really love the buildings and how everything is so close. I also really enjoy campus corner. I just love the whole campus in general.

SS: Why did you choose to come to OU?

AMC: When I came to visit I really got along well with the girls and I really liked the coaches. I loved how everyone was so friendly.

SS: What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming season?

AMC: I am really excited about traveling to all the different schools. I am also excited about competing. I think we are going to have a great season.

SS: What are your personal goals for the fall season?

AMC: I want to win as much as possible. I want to adjust well to the college level and have good results.

SS: How have you adjusted to college and being so far from home?

AMC: It hasn't been that hard. We are so busy with practice and school and I have all the girls. We are all really close so that helps.

SS: Do you prefer singles or doubles? Why?

AMC: I love both. But I would have to say singles, because I am really independent. I like to be able to make my own decisions and then blame myself if it something goes wrong.

SS: How has the team bonded in the first few weeks of practice?

AMC: We are really close. Everyone is really encouraging through conditioning and practice. We have also bonded a lot through doubles play.
