VOLLEYBALL (12-3 Overall, 5-1 Big 12)
Last Week: The Oklahoma volleyball team entered the national rankings at No. 25 last week and went 1-1 with a win against Colorado and a loss to Missouri. The Sooners rallied from a 2-0 deficit against Colorado at the McCasland Field House to top the Buffs, 3-2 (21-30, 16-30, 30-18, 30-27, 15-10). Oklahoma played another five-game match on Saturday night against Missouri but dropped its first Big 12 contest of the season. The Sooners tied the match up at 2-2 after dropping the first two frames, but Mizzou came out on top, 3-2 (29-31, 18-30, 35-33, 30-24, 13-25).

This Week: The Sooners will step out of Big 12 play Wednesday as they head to Fort Worth, Texas for a meeting with the TCU Horned Frogs. First serve between OU and TCU is set for 7 p.m. Oklahoma will return to the McCasland Field House and to Big 12 play Saturday as it hosts Iowa State at 7 p.m. in Norman.

Notes: For the first time in Big 12 history, Oklahoma opened the conference season with a perfect 5-0 record … Four of OU's last six matches have gone to five games with Oklahoma coming out on top in two of the three matches … The Sooners are 10-3 in five-game matches since 2006 … Julie Chester recorded a career-high 69 assists against Missouri.

SOCCER (4-4-2 Overall, 0-2 Big 12)
Last Week: The Sooners opened Big 12 play last weekend on the road and were handed a pair of losses. The Sooners began the conference season with a 1-0 loss at Nebraska and ended the weekend with a 2-0 defeat at Iowa State.

This Week: OU will return to action Thursday, Oct. 4 against Baylor. Play will get underway at 7 p.m. in Norman at John Crain Field. The Sooners will conclude the week on Sunday, Oct. 7 at home against No. 3 Texas A&M. Game time is 1 p.m.

Notes: The Sooners are 1-4-1 away from the friendly confines of John Crain Field this season, while being outscored 8-3 … OU is 3-0-1 when playing on its home field and is outscoring its opponents 13-1 … The Sooners have nine games remaining in the 2007 regular season and six of those contests will be played in Norman.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Last Week: Courtney Paris helped the USA Basketball Women's Senior National Team to an Olympic berth after the team won gold at the FIBA Americas Zone Tournament in Valdivia, Chile, with a 101-71 victory over Cuba Sunday. The U.S. went 5-0 in the tournament as Paris earned her sixth career gold medal as part of a USA Basketball team.

This Week: The Sooners continue preseason workouts in preparation for the first official practice, Oct. 12.

MEN'S GOLF
Last Week: The University of Oklahoma men's golf team finished tied for fifth at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala., Sept. 25, after a final round 11-over-par 299.

This Week: OU prepares to host its home event, the Oklahoma Intercollegiate, Oct. 14-16 at Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.

Notes: Senior Phillip Bryan jumped from 22nd to 13th place after a final-round 73. The Mustang, Okla., native played his final five holes at 2-under-par … Also in 13th was Eric Durbin, who shot 78 after entering the final round in second. The result marked the second consecutive top-20 finish for the Houston, Texas, native. The sophomore finished second at the Scenic City Invitational on Sept. 11 … Admission to the Oklahoma Intercollegiate is free to the public.

WOMEN'S GOLF
This Week: No. 16 Oklahoma travels to Boulder, Colo., for the University of Colorado Heather Farr Memorial Invitational. The Sooners look for their second consecutive tournament victory after beginning the fall season with the Badger Women's Golf Invitational championship.

Notes: The Sooners are ranked 16th in the Golfweek Magazine/Sagarin performance index ratings ... Freshman Ellen Mueller, juniors Kendall Dye and Staci Smoot, and seniors Kelly Jacques and Heather Wright make up the Sooner lineup this week.

MEN'S TENNIS
Last Week: No. 9 Rob McKenzie defeated No. 17 Moritz Starke of Pacific, 6-3, (4-6), 6-4, in the fourth round of pre-qualifying at the 2007 Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. With the victory Sunday, McKenzie will now move to the qualifying singles draw with teammates Federico Chavarria and Andrei Daescu.

This Week: Monday, in round one of the qualifying singles draw, Chavarria will play No. 9 Benjamin Carlotti of North Carolina at 1 p.m., Daescu will play Sinisa Markovic of Texas Tech at 10:30 a.m. and McKenzie will play Matthias Wellermann of Mississippi at 9 a.m. at the 2007 Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Last Week: The team competed in the Colorado Invitational Sept. 28-30.

Notes: Senior Chelsea Orr and Freshman Ana-Maria Constantinescu both advanced to the finals of the main draw. Orr came away with the win in three sets, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3. Oklahoma also had four teams entered in the round robin doubles draw, each of which won at least one match.

CROSS COUNTRY
Last Week: The University of Oklahoma men's cross country team finished ninth and the OU women finished 17th at the 2007 Roy Griak Invitational Saturday at the University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course. The men were led by sophomore Jon Grey, who finished 35th, while Catherine Odell took 31st in the women's division.

This Week: OU is off this week before returning to action Oct. 12 in the Penn State National Invitational.
