January 30, 2007 | Women's Basketball
NORMAN, Okla. -- The CBS-produced feature on Jenna Plumley, which was a part of the hour-long special Pride, Passion and Power on Jan. 21, will re-air on Sooner Women's Basketball with Sherri Coale this week.
The episode of Sooner Women's Basketball will tape on Thursday and begin airing throughout the region on Friday, Feb. 2.
CBS and a production crew from Tempo Films hand picked Plumley, who is one of a small number of full-blood Native Americans in Division I basketball. Plumley's family has bloodlines in the Comanche, Otoe, Pawnee and Pueblo tribes.
The film crew traveled to Red Rock, Okla., to interview her parents, Carol and Ron, and two of her brothers, Albert and Chris.
The feature, which runs about 10 minutes in length, focuses on her upbringing within the Native American community and her path to stardom at Frontier High School and the University of Oklahoma.
Plumley is averaging 2.7 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in a reserve role for No. 9 Sooners.
