Tennis Prepares for UT-Pan American

NORMAN, Okla.The Oklahoma men's tennis team continues their road trip to Fort Worth, Texas Jan. 23. The Sooners are preparing to face the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs Tuesday evening with the match set for 9 p.m.
The competition is a short three days after the conclusion of the ITA/USTA Central Regional in Tulsa. At the regional the Oklahoma defeated Nebraska to advance to semifinal round where they faced No. 16 Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma battled but dropped the match, 3-4, to the Pokes eliminating them from the tournament. Freshman Andrei Daescu picked up a big win in the Central Regional over No. 3 Ivan Puchkarov.
Oklahoma will square off against the Broncs at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center located on the nearby Texas Christian University campus. Match results will be posted as soon as they become available.
The competition against the Broncs marks the last road match before the Sooners return to Oklahoma Friday, Feb. 2 to face Southern Illinois at Willow Creek in Oklahoma City.
