In the professional ranks, recent Sooners Ryan Rohlinger and Chuckie Caufield both have had productive weeks. Rohlinger had a pair of homeruns in a 6-4 Salem-Keizer victory over the Spokane Indians on July 14. The West Bend, Wis., native hit a solo shot to right in the bottom of the third inning and followed it up with a three-run shot to left in the seventh.
Caufield went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple in a 6-4 loss to the Billings Mustangs on Monday night. The Ada product is batting .265 for the season with 44 hits and four homeruns.
In a Tuesday night loss to Toronto, former Sooner Greg Norton went 2-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI. Norton's 10th homer of the year, a two-run shot in the bottom of the first of Toronto ace Roy Halladay, raised his average from .281 to .288. Unfortunately, the San Leandro, Calif., came up limping on a fly ball down the right field line in the sixth inning with a strained left hamstring. Norton is listed as day-to-day.
Below is a complete look at all the Sooners, current and former, playing in various leagues this summer.
