OU Collecting Basketball Artifacts

July 11, 2006 | Men's Basketball

NORMAN, Okla. With an eye on the approaching 100th season of Oklahoma men's basketball and in an effort to create a definitive historical representation of both OU basketball programs, the OU athletics department is asking the public to donate artifacts.

Similar to the opportunity associated with the Switzer Center, fans can donate any piece of memorabilia related to either program. A portion of the items donated will be used in permanent displays at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Due to the number of items expected, anything accepted by the department will become property of OU and will not be returned.

The women's basketball program is especially interested in memorabilia and fan support items from 1974-1996. Parties that are interested should call Associate Media Relations Director Chris Freet at (405) 325-8231.

The men's basketball program welcomes items from all eras, but is specifically targeting the pre-1960s. All inquiries should be made to Associate Media Relations Director Mike Houck at (405) 325-8231.
