“It's amazing what she has accomplished in the last two years,” Johnson said. “Anda qualifying for and winning in a major tournament is a tremendous accomplishment. She's continuing to improve and showing that she can compete with the best players in the world.”
Perianu left OU in 2004 as one of the most decorated players in school history. An ITA All-American in 2004, she was also a three-time All-Big 12 and two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.
She was the Big 12 champion in No. 1 singles in 2003 and 2004 and was a three-time NCAA qualifier in singles and a two-time qualifier in doubles. Her .834 career winning percentage is a school record.
In April, Perianu was named to the Big 12's Men's and Women's Tennis 10th Anniversary Team.
