NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 9/10 Oklahoma Sooners (10-6-1, 1-4) host No. 16/18 Michigan State Spartans (4-9, 2-6) Thursday at 7 p.m., inside the Howard McCasland Field House.
Thursday will also mark senior night for five Sooners. Wrestling in their last home dual will be Austin David, Jake Hager, Shane Kidd, Wes Roberts and Teyon Ware.
Last season Oklahoma defeated Michigan State, 31-10, in East Lansing, Mich. The Sooners last lost to the Spartans in 2002-03 when MSU came to Norman and won 24-14.
At 125, pounds OU's Sam Hazewinkel (24-0) and MSU's Nick Simmons (28-0) meet as the No. 2 and No. 3 wrestlers in the country, respectively. The two were both undefeated in high school, going 132-0 and 211-0, while claiming seven state championships between them. Both wrestlers have also earned All-America honors while in college.
At 141 pounds, Sooner Teyon Ware (20-1) and Spartan Andy Simmons (28-3) meet as the No. 2 and No. 5 wrestlers in the country, respectively. The two All-Americans were also both undefeated in high school, going 140-0 and 219-0, and each won four state titles.
Oklahoma will travel to Ames, Iowa, for the Big 12 Championships on Saturday, March 4.
