NORMAN, Okla., -- The No. 4 Oklahoma wrestling team travels to Brockport, N.Y. this weekend to compete in the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Classic on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The Sooners come into the event having won the last six team titles.

Lat season, in addition to claiming the team title, the Sooners claimed four individual titles.  Sam Hazewinkel, who is competing in his final Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Classic, will be vying for his fourth straight 125-pound individual title.

“We are really looking forward to competing at the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Classic, against some very quality opponents,” head coach Jack Spates said.

OU is coming off an impressive season opening double-dual when they outscored Missouri Valley and Oklahoma City University by a combined score of 92-0.

“This tournament will be a very good building block in our development as a team.  This is still not the caliber of teams that we will be facing later this season but it will still be a good test,” Spates continued.

Oklahoma stays on the road following Brockport as it travels to the Missouri Open in Columbia, Mo., on Sunday, Nov. 19, for an all day event.

The Sooners return home on Saturday, Nov. 25, when they host the Oklahoma open and wrestle their next home dual on Wednesday, Nov. 29, when the University of Oklahoma travels to the Howard McCasland Field House.
