NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma volleyball team endured its third conference loss of the season Wednesday night to Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. The Red Raiders swept the Sooners by counts of 27-30, 26-30 and 21-30 to earn their first conference win of the season and their ninth straight home contest against OU. Oklahoma, still seeking its first conference win, fell to 5-6 and 0-3 in the Big 12 while Tech pushed its record to 7-5 and 1-2 in league play.
“I was disappointed in our effort tonight,” head coach Santiago Restrepo said. “We have to come out and play better if we want to achieve our goals in the Big 12.”
Statistically, the Sooners outplayed the Red Raiders in most categories, but OU's 15 service errors led to its eventual downfall. Oklahoma held an advantage in hitting percentage (.142), assists (38) and total blocks (seven).
