NORMAN, Okla. University of Oklahoma junior Anthony Kim survived playoffs late Tuesday to advance to the match play segment of the 105th U.S. Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa.

Kim shot a 1-under 69 on the Philadelphia Country Club today to counter his 7-over at Merion during the first round Monday and fight for one of the 64 spots that make up the match-play bracket.

Oklahoma junior Justin Fraley was eliminated. Fraley's 9-over 149 missed the cut by three strokes.

Canadian James Lepp (-5, 135) fired the best round of the day, a 65 at Philadelphia, to overtake first-round leader Charlie Beljan (140, E) and clubhouse leader Korey Mahoney (139, -1) and earn medalist honors.
