NORMAN, Okla. -- As part of continuing coverage of Oklahoma baseball throughout the summer, SoonerSports.com will bring fans weekly updates of current Sooners competing in the numerous summer baseball leagues around the country. Chad Lembeck headlines the fourth installment as the Lakewood, Colo., native is tearing up the Southern California Baseball League with a .405 average and 15 stolen bases, both team highs. Lembeck also leads the San Diego Mavericks in RBI (13), doubles (6) and triples (3).
Fellow Maverick teammate Blake Mitchell and P.J. Sandoval (Southern California Fire) are also playing in the Southern California Baseball League.

In the Alaska Baseball League, Steven Guerra is throwing well for the Anchorage Bucs. Guerra is 3-2 in his five starts and has thrown two complete games, including a shutout. The Paso Robeles, Calif., native has thrown 34 innings and owns a 2.38 ERA. Kevin Duke is also pitching in Alaska, against Guerra, for the Mat-Su Miners.
On the east coast in the Cape Cod Baseball League, Daniel McCutchen of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox continues to lead the squad's pitching staff with 59 strikeouts. McCutchen is 3-5 in his eight starts and is holding down a 3.20 ERA. Also on the Red Sox, Jackson Williams has played in 17 games while Kody Kaiser's playing time has been limited to six games with shin splints. Also in the Cape, Will Savage of the Brewster Whitecaps has a 2.73 ERA in 33.1 innings pitched.
Scott Rooker and Jared Freeman of the Highland Park Blue Sox continue to play solid baseball in the Texas Collegiate League with 16 and 17 RBI, respectively.
Brent Hodge is also playing for the Highland Park Blue Sox while Russell Raley, also of the Texas Collegiate League, is on the Graham Roughnecks but is currently inactive with the same stress fracture that forced him to miss the Sooners' 2005 postseason run.
Others participating in summer leagues include:
OU hurler, Tyler Adkins of the Thunder Bay Border Cats, is competing in the Northwoods League.
John Brownell is pitching for the El Dorado Broncos in the Jayhawk League.
Finally, slugger Joe Dunigan of the Dupage Dragons is playing in the Central Illinois Collegiate League.
Several former Sooners are also playing in Major League Baseball and its minor league affiliates. Most recently, Mark Redman pitched eight scoreless innings on Sunday, July 24 to pick up his fifth win of the season for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Redman limited the Colorado Rockies to six hits while striking out five batters and is scheduled to make his next start on Saturday, July 30 at Atlanta.
