Sooners In The NPF: Week 4

June 29, 2005 | Softball

NORMAN, Okla. -- As a bonus to Oklahoma softball fans, the staff of SoonerSports.com will provide a weekly glimpse at former players competing in the National Pro Fastpitch league.  Today's installment covers week four of the NPF season for two Sooner alums.  Check back every Wednesday for an updated look at the Sooners in the professional ranks.

Scaglione played in two of the four games against Team China last weekend.  She had four at bats, two hits and two RBIs.  Her hitting in game three of the series helped the Juggernauts make a comeback and win the game.  The San Diego Union-Tribune recently named Scaglione its Athlete of the Week for her accomplishments with the University of Oklahoma softball team, in addition to her recently being named to the USA Elite Team.

After losing one of the four games to Team China, the Juggernauts were pushed into third place with a total record of 13-3.  The Juggernauts will host the Texas Thunder this weekend in a four-game series.

Christina Enea and the Chicago Bandits are currently in second place with a record of 14-2.  They swept the Arizona Heat in a four-game series last weekend and hope to continue on their winning streak this weekend against the Stratford Brakettes.

Erin Evans and the Texas Thunder won last weekend's series 4-0 against the New England Riptide.  Evans had a total of nine at bats, one run, and two RBIs in the series.  The Thunder also played the Stratford Brakettes on June 27-28, but the statistics of the games have not been posted.  This weekend they will take on the New York Juggernauts in a four-game series.
