Kim Takes 12th at Northeast Amateur

NORMAN, Okla. University of Oklahoma golfer Anthony Kim finished in a tie for 12th at the 44th annual Northeast Amatuer Inviational in Rumsford, R.I., Sunday.

The defending tournament champion, Kim (La Quinta, Calif.) carded rounds of 73-67-68-67 (a 1-under 275 total) on the par-69, 6,991-yard Wannamoisett Country Club course to finish seven strokes behind medalist Kyle Reifers (Columbus, Ohio), a senior-to-be from Wake Forest.

Reifers picked up the tournament lead during Friday's second round and never relinquished it, firing his worst score an even-par 69 on Sunday. He led a tie for second place between Billy Hurley (Leesburg, Va./U.S. Naval Academy) and Michael Sim (Connolly, Western Australia) by three strokes.

Former Sooner All-American Tripp Davis (Norman, Okla.) finished in a tie for 31st with a 4-over 280. Davis' best round came over the final 18 holes as he bogeyed only one hole on his way to a 67.
