Jackson Earns AP All-America Honorable Mention Honors

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma senior guard Dionnah Jackson was selected by the Associated Press as an honorable mention All-American for 2004-05. Jackson led OU in rebounding (8.5), assists (5.8) and steals (2.2) per game, as well as ranking second in scoring with 14.6 ppg.

Jackson has received many honors this season, earning WBCA/Kodak All-Region 5 acclaim and All-Big 12 honors for the third consecutive year. She was also named to the mid-season Naismith Award list and the pre-season Wade Trophy and Wooden Award All-America lists.

In Big 12 play, Jackson averaged 14.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. She also garnished two Big 12 Player of the Week honors and finished the season ranked third on the league's all-time assists (606) list and seventh on the all-time steals (265) chart. On the year, she recorded 24 10-point games, including four 20-point and one 30-point games. Jackson also had 10 double-doubles and one triple-double performance her senior season.

She has made her mark in the Oklahoma history books as well, ranking among the all-time top 15 in 16 of 22 career categories including ninth in scoring (1491), fourth in rebounding (829) and second in assists (606).

Jackson also made history by becoming one of only two players in the Big 12 to have produced more than 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 steals in a career.

Former Sooners that have earned AP All-America recognition include Stacey Dales-Schuman (2002, 2001, first teams) and Phylesha Whaley (2000, honorable mention).
