NORMAN, Okla. The No. 41 Oklahoma men's tennis team (6-0) will take on UNLV ( 6-2) on Friday, Feb. 18 at 3:30 p.m. (CST). The men play the Rebels at the FertittaTennis Complex in Las Vegas, Nev. The Sooners also face Hawaii on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 12 p.m. (CST).
OU picked up a 6-1 victory over UNLV in last year's UNLV Invitational. Oklahoma went on to claim the tournament title by defeating Texas-Arlington. The Sooners are 1-1 against Hawaii since 2000. OU lost to Hawaii 6-1 in 2002 and won 5-2 in 2000.
Going into this weekend, four of OU's six singles positions are flawless. The team also sports a 10-2 singles record when facing opponents in Region V.
“This weekend's games will be our first outdoor competition of the spring and we are looking forward to the opportunity to play two quality opponents in UNLV and Hawaii. We have to play well to come away with two wins this weekend,” said head Coach Paul Lockwood.
The first home match for the Sooners is March 5 against Navy at 12 p.m.
