NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma men's basketball fans got their first glimpse of the 2005-06 Sooners Friday night at the annual Baseline Bash inside Lloyd Noble Center. Kelvin Sampson's crew, a consensus top-10 national preseason selection by print and online publications, held a 10-minute scrimmage before dazzling the crowd with a slam dunk showcase.

Taj Gray's white team (also included Nate Carter, David Godbold, Austin Johnson and Kellen Sampson) defeated Terrell Everett's red squad (Taylor Griffin, Longar Longar, Michael Neal, Michael Ott and Chris Walker) by a 21-14 score in an up-tempo affair. Gray wowed the several thousand in attendance with multiple jams, one on a long alley-oop pass from Godbold.
The dunk showcase featured Godbold, Gray, Griffin, Johnson, Longar and Ott. Each contestant was given a warm-up slam and a regulation attempt. Due to time constraints, a winner was not crowned.
The Sooners, who will be honored at halftime of Saturday's football game versus Baylor for their 2005 Big 12 regular season title, play home exhibition games Nov. 5 and 12 against Northeastern (Okla.) State and UNC Pembroke. The regular season begins Nov. 19 against Samford at Lloyd Noble Center.
