Women's Tennis Concludes Play at ITA Central Regional

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah The Oklahoma women's tennis team wrapped up competition Friday at the ITA Central Regional, hosted by the University of Utah.
Junior Irina Lykina fell in the round of 32 of the main draw singles, while teammate Gabby Baker advanced to the round of 16 before being eliminated. Sophomore Christi Baxley advanced to the round of 16 in the singles backdraw but lost in that round.
Lykina faced Colorado's Jessica Vanderdys but lost in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Baker continued her run through the main draw by defeating Tulsa's Santie Delport, 6-0, 7-5, in the round of 32 but fell to Colorado's Monica Milevski, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, in the round of 16. Baxley defeated Torrie Browning of Wichita State, 6-4, 6-3, in the round of 32 in the singles backdraw but fell to Nebraska's Imke Reimers in the round of 16.
The Sooners will conclude their fall season at the ITA National Indoor Championships, scheduled for Nov. 3-6 in Columbus, Ohio.
