NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma women's cross country team travels to Fayetteville, Ark., this weekend for the Chile Pepper Cross Country Invitational. Saturday's meet is the team's final tune-up before the Big 12 Championships.
The Chile Pepper is one the largest college and high school meets in the country and will be held at the University of Arkansas cross country course. The course is a combination of grass, cinder and uneven terrain.
The Sooners are no strangers to the event, having competed at it seven of the past eight years. Last year, the OU women finished fourth overall as Jessica Eldridge broke the school's 6K distance record en route to a fourth-place individual finish.
The women's 6K race begins at 10:30 a.m.
A full recap and results will be available on SoonerSports.com shortly following the conclusion of the race.
