Women Runners Earn First National Ranking

It is the first time in history that the Sooners have ever appeared on the national poll in its ten year history.
“It's nice to gain recognition nationally for our improvements,” OU head coach Rodney Rothoff said. “It's a step in the direction we expected to go in when I was hired.”
The Sooner harriers defeated the No. 16 Arkansas Lady Razorbacks by one point, 78-79, at their last meet in
Big 12 Runner of the Week Jessica Eldridge finished second in the race, running at a career-best time of 16 minutes, 41.96 seconds.
That time also marks the fourth-fastest 5k time in school history.
Teammates Nicola Maye, (ninth, 17:42.77) Catherine Odell (15th, 18:02.70), Aja Clark (20th, 18:17.14) and Jackie Dubois (32nd, 18:46.51) also scored points.
The marks recorded by Eldridge and Maye at last week's Southern Stampede are the two fastest 5k times run by Big 12 athletes this season. Odell's run ranks fourth and
