Three publications produced by members of the staff of the University of Oklahoma's Athletics Media Relations Office have received national awards from the College of Sports Information Directors of America including the 2003-04 women's basketball media guide.

This year's women's basketball guide finished third in the country and was second in District 6. It marked the second time in four years for the women's basketball media guide to earn national honors. The 2000-01 women's basketball media guide won Best in the Nation. The awards went to Debbie Long, associate director of media relations, and Debbie Copp, director of publications.

The men's basketball guide finished sixth in the country and was second in District 6. It marked the second time in three years for the men's basketball media guide to earn national honors. That award went to Mike Houck, associate director of media relations.

The Sooners' postseason football media guide finished first in the country. It marks the fourth time in the last five seasons for OU to produce the top-ranked postseason media guide. All four have been bowl guides for the Sooner football team. Kenny Mossman, assistant athletics director for media relations, Danielle Felter, assistant director, media relations, and Chris Freet, assistant director, media relations, earned the award.

The football postseason book was printed by OU Printing Services while Transcript Press of Norman printed the men's and women's basketball media guides.

The annual contests are coordinated by CoSIDA and entries are judged by media panels from across the country. The awards will be distributed at the annual CoSIDA Workshop to be held June 26-30 in Calgary, Alberta.
