MARTIGNY, Switzerland -- Down by one point with 31 seconds to play sophomore Laura Andrews scored three of her five points to give the Oklahoma women's basketball team a 64-62 win over Vallais Select team on Saturday in the grand opening of its gymnasium in Martigny, Switzerland.
OU is now 4-0 and has one game remaining on its European Tour. The Sooners will face Lancy Meyrin on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in Meyrin, Switzerland.
"It was an honor to be a part of the inaugural game in their new facility," said OU head coach Sherri Coale. "Martigny-Ovronnaz gave us a great game. They defended well and were very organized offensively. We didn't shoot it very well but we executed and competed and did what we needed to do down the stretch to win."

Andrews connected on her third free throw of the day to tie the game for the 16th time. She followed up with the game winning free throw. The Washington, Okla., native also came up with a big defensive rebound with 23 seconds to play and hit her final foul shot of the day with six seconds to play, for the 64-62 win.
Scoring the first six points of the game, junior Dionnah Jackson completed the afternoon with a game-high 23, the only OU player in score in double digits. Jackson also had game highs of nine rebounds and six assists, while pocketing three steals in 29 minutes of action. The Sooner point guard shot 56.3 percent from the field (9-16) and 71.4 percent from the foul line (5-7).
"Dionnah (Jackson) controlled the game and Britney (Brown) made a significant contribution off the bench," Coale said. Britney's defensive pressure affected their guards, and offensively she was very sure with the basketball. This game was a tremendous experience for us as we had step off of a four hour bus ride and competed for 40 minutes against a good basketball team."
The remaining offensive distribution was charged to Leah Rush, who had eight points, followed by Beky Preston, Kendra Moore and Lauren Shoush with six points each. Andrews added five and Erin Higgins and Britney Brown had four points apiece.
Rush was strong defensively as she grabbed eight rebounds to go along with her four of nine shooting from the field.
Three Vallais Select team members scored in double digits. Andrea Depraz had 16 points off the bench, followed by Karin Hauser's 15 and Manie Cardello's 11.
Saturday Notes:
Oklahoma was the first team to play inside Martigny's newly opened gymnasium, that's yet to be named, for the Vallais Select teams. OU's team photo will hang inside the gym in honor of this day.
When stopping at the Swish Port, the Sooners traveling bus pulled up beside the Harlem Globetrotter's tour bus. Selected members of the Globetrotters visited with the players and coaching staff before a group photo.
Oklahoma is averaging 87.8 points and 53.8 rebounds per game in its European Tour. Dionnah Jackson leads the team with 18.0 points per game, followed by Leah Rush's 11.3 and Kendra Moore's 9.3. Jackson also leads the Sooners with 7.5 rebounds,\ followed by Moore and Beky Preston 6.0 rebounds per outing.
