OU Men's Golf Completes First Round of Waikoloa Intercollegiate

In its initial tournament of the 2004 season, the University of Oklahoma men's golf team concluded first-round action Wednesday at the Waikoloa Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii, tied for 17th place. The Sooners finished the day with a team score of 296 (+8) at The Waikoloa Kings Golf Course (par-72, 7,074-yards).

OU was led by freshman Anthony Kim (La Quinta, Calif.) who shot a 71 (-1). Kim finished the day tied for 24th place along with seven others. Finishing two shots behind Kim and tied for 41st was senior Martin Flores (Mansfield, Texas) with a 73 (+1).

True freshman Carlos Del Moral (Valencia, Spain), making his first collegiate start, is tied for 64th place after carding a 75 (+3). Senior Blake Martin (Stigler, Okla.) is tied for 85th place after shooting an opening round 77 (+5), while senior Doug Manor (Garland, Texas) shot a 78.

The Sooners continue second-round action today and conclude the tournament on Friday.
