Jackson Named Big 12 Player of the Week

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma Preseason All-American Dionnah Jackson was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for games played from Nov. 29-Dec. 5, the conference office announced.

This is Jackson's second career player of the week honor and first for the season. The 5-9 guard produced Oklahoma's first triple-double under head coach Sherri Coale. It also marked just the second triple double in program history and the sixth in Big 12 Conference history. She had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against Tulsa. Jackson also shot 50 percent from the field, hitting 7-of-14 shots, and registered two blocks. She was named OU's MVP of the Bertha Teague Classic.

The St. Louis, Mo., native had another stellar game against Lamar with a double-double. She scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in OU's win over the Lady Cardinals. For the week, Jackson averaged a double-double with 19.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. She also averaged 3.0 blocks and 6.5 assists as well as shooting 56.7 percent from the field, including hitting two of five three pointers.

Jackson leads OU in 12 of 19 categories including points (14.8 ppg), assists (5.3 apg), steals (3.5 spg) and blocks (1.8) per game.

Jackie McFarland (Colorado) and Patrice Reado (Texas A&M) were named Co-Big 12 Rookies of the Week. Players are nominated by each school's sports information office and voted on by a panel of media who cover Big 12 women's basketball.
