McGhee Leaves Women's Basketball Program

Norman, Okla. --- Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale announced Monday that freshman Stephanie McGhee will not return to the women's basketball program following the holiday break.

McGhee, the 2004-05 Preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year, missed the first six games of the season due to a stress fracture. Upon her return to the court, the Howe, Okla., product played in three of the four games, scoring in each. The 6-0 guard averaged 2.3 points per game.

“We are truly disappointed in Stephanie's decision to not return to the team,” said Coale.  “We wish her the best in all her future endeavors.”

McGhee's future plans are unknown.
