OU's Marek Velicka Falls in First Round of ITA Indoors

NORMAN, Okla. University of Oklahoma's Marek Velicka lost his first round match 5-7, 6-2, 6-4, to UCLA's Ben Kohlloeffel Thursday at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships inside the University of Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center.
The first set went Velicka's way as he won by a break, 7-5. In the second set, Kohlloeffel fought back to win it, 6-2. In the third set, Kohlloeffel maintained control and took the third set, 6-4, claiming the win in the three-set match. The loss gives Velicka a 10-4 fall record.
Velicka is set to play Michigan's Brian Hung in the consolation bracket which begins Friday at 7:30 a.m. CST.
