Grand Bahama Island -- Oklahoma left Norman at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 23) for The Grand Bahama Island. After more than a two hour delay in Atlanta, OU arrived at the Bahama International Airport in Freeport about 5:30 p.m. Cloudy skies and windy conditions greeted the Sooners as they checked into the Lucaya Beach & Resort.

After enjoying the afternoon walking the beach and sight seeing on their own, the Sooners concluded the day with a team dinner at Fatman's Nephew.

Oklahoma started Thanksgiving Day with a team meeting in the coaches' suite followed by nearly a two hour practice at St. George High School. With classes in session 20 feet away, several students got the opportunity to watch OU practice and visit with the team afterwards.

The Sooners spent Thanksgiving dinner with their family, friends and the seven other teams competing in the Junkanoo Jam at the Lucaya Beach Convention Center. A traditional (American) meal was prepared.

Oklahoma spent its final night (Saturday) in the Grand Bahamas surrounded by family as 55 members of the Sooner family attended dinner together.
