OU Men's Golfers Tied For Fifth Place At Inverness Intercollegiate

The University of Oklahoma men's golf team concluded the first day of action at the Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational in Toledo, Ohio, tied for fifth along with the University of New Mexico. The Sooners finished the day with a team score of 606 (+38) after completing 36 holes.
OU was led by senior Martin Flores (Mansfield, Texas), who is currently tied for sixth place. Flores recorded a first round 73 and a second round 75 for a total of 148 (+6). Three shots behind Flores is true freshman Anthony Kim (Studio City, Calif.) who stands tied for 19th at plus nine in his second collegiate start. Kim carded a 74 in the first round and followed up with a 77 in the second round for a total of 151 (+9).
Making his first collegiate start, true freshman Daniel Mitchell (Oklahoma City Okla.) finished the day tied for 29th after shooting a 153 (+11). Sophomore Jim Renner (Plainsville, Mass.) shot a first round 72 and second round 82 concluding the day with a score of 154 (+12). Rounding out the scoring for the Sooners was sophomore Brodie Flanders (Vancouver, British Columbia), making his first start this season, recorded a total score of 163 (+21).
Final round action begins at 2 p.m., Saturday in Toledo, Ohio.
