It marks the senior management information systems major's first academic all-district selection of his career.

On the field, the Ft. Cobb, Okla., native has consistently ranked among the Big 12 Conference leaders in hitting, stolen bases and on base percentage for most of the season. He ranks first in the league in stolen bases, eighth in hitting and fifth in on-base percentage. In addition to his conference rankings, Willits also leads the Sooners in several offensive categories including slugging percentage, runs scored and walks.

Earlier in the season, Willits put together a team and career best 11-game hitting streak and has also reached base safely in all but three games this season. His 33 stolen bases on the year has already set a new personal season best and also places him in a tie for the eighth spot on the school's single season stolen base list.
