NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's and women's tennis teams continue their respective road trips Wednesday afternoon. The 32nd-ranked Sooner women (12-2, 3-1) face their fourth-consecutive ranked opponent on the road in the form of conference rival No. 41 Oklahoma State. The Cowgirls are 7-5 overall and 2-3 in conference with wins over No. 35 Colorado and No. 55 Kansas. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the DuBois Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla.
OU is coming off a huge road victory over No. 43 Texas. The Sooners' 4-3 win over the Longhorns was the first in Big 12 Conference history and also improved Oklahoma's record to an impressive 6-2 versus ranked opponents this season.
The Sooner men (12-4, 0-2) battle regional opponent Wichita State Wednesday afternoon. The Shockers are 4-6 overall but sport a 1-0 record in confernce after defeating Southwest Missouri State, 5-2. OU halted a two-match losing skid with a 6-1 victory against Sacramento State last week.
The Sooners are currently 4-0 against teams in Region V with two victories over Oral Roberts and wins against Southwest Missouri State and Drake. Play is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex on the south side of the Wichita State campus.
