OU Men's Tennis Set To Take On Cameron

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team continues its 2003 spring schedule Tuesday afternoon against the Cameron Aggies. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the OU Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman. The Sooners are 10-2 on the season following a 5-2 win over No. 71 Michigan State, The Aggies are ranked No. 31 among Division II teams in the latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings. This is the first meeting between the two schools since the Sooners shut out Cameron, 7-0, in 1996.

Leading the Sooners in singles are senior Chris Mitchell (Tulsa, Okla.), who sports a 5-0 record at No. 1 singles and freshman Alexei Ivanov (Izhebsk, Russia), who is 5-0 at No. 2 singles. Ivanov also has three wins at No. 1 singles including a 2-6, 6-1, 6-3, win over Michigan State's Andrew Formanczyk while Mitchell also has three victories at No. 2 singles. Mitchell and freshman Tommy Garrison (Enid, Okla.) have combined for a 6-1 mark at No. 1 doubles.
