Men's Golf Team Set To Compete In Hawaii

The University of Oklahoma men's golf team will compete in its first tournament of the 2003 spring season next week (Feb. 12-14) at the Taylor Made Waikoloa Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii. The tournament will be held at the Waikoloa Kings Golf Course (7,074 yards, par 72).

Sooner Golfers in the Rankings
OU is currently 30th in the Golfstat collegiate head-to- head rankings. Individually, senior John Kidwell (Dallas, Texas) was listed as one of the players to watch in the GolfWorld college preview. Kidwell earned medalist honors at the Sooner Invitational with a three-round total of 205 (-11).

Doug Manor (Sr., Garland, Texas) - Making his ninth career start for Oklahoma ... Shot a career-low 68 in the last round of the Carpet Capital Classic finishing tied for 10th, also a career low... Finished tied for 23rd at the Sooner Invitational... Fired a then-career-low round of 69 in the second round of the 2002 NCAA regional.
Blake Martin (Jr., Stigler, Okla.) - Starting his seventh tournament for OU ... Shot a career-low 68 in the last round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate ... Shot a then-career-low 69 at the Sooner Invitational.
