OU Set To Begin Big 12 Play Against No. 54 Texas Tech
The Oklahoma men's tennis team (8-1) begins conference play on the road against No. 54 Texas Tech Saturday, March 1. Match time is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock, Texas. The Red Raiders are 6-1 on the season and undefeated in conference play at 2-0. They beat Nebraska, 5-2, and are coming off a 4-3 road victory over No. 71 Colorado. Leading the Red Raiders is senior Alfonso Perez who is currently ranked 97th by the ITA.

Sooners Too Much For Regional Opponents
The Sooners are currently riding a five-match winning streak that began with a pair of victories over Centenary on Feb. 8. OU traveled to Oral Roberts where they rolled past the Golden Eagles, 6-1. The Sooners were back in action the next day against Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Mo. Oklahoma took four of six singles matches to hand the winless Bears their third loss of the season, 4-2. Those two victories pushed OU's record against Region V teams to 3-0.

OU added a match against Cowley County Community College on Feb. 21 at the Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Okla. The Sooners recorded their fifth shutout with 7-0 victory.

Garrison And Mitchell Still Undefeated In Match Play
Freshman Tommy Garrison (Enid, Okla.) and senior Chris Mitchell (Tulsa, Okla.) have been solid at the No. 1 doubles position. The duo is 4-0 this spring and 11-2 on the year. Against New Mexico, they produced OU's only victory on the day beating Brent Salazar and Henry Gers, 8-5.
