Caton Hill's Diary Entry No. 3

December 11, 2003 | Women's Basketball

We are about to start the last stretch of our schedule before Christmas.

This year has been a bit stressful because we miss most of our classes  last week and final exams are next week. We miss all the study guides, helpful hints and last minute reminders. Some of the girls haven't been to their Tuesday and Thursday classes in close to three weeks.

Fortunately for me, fifth years have a relatively light schedule. My golf, piano and art therapy finals don't quite equal my genetics, organic chemistry and cell biology finals that I have had to take in the past.

Currently, we are in Bozeman, Mont., and we return for one day before heading to Nacogdoches, Texas on Friday. There has been a lot of distractions on this trip. You have the stress of school, team travel, different gym, having to adapt to the time change and other distraction that come along the way.

For example, during our shoot around today, selected members of the Montana State track team was practicing. People (athletes) were running around the floor, hurdling, pole vaulting and even throwing the hammer. During one point of our practice Coach Coale was speaking to us and all of the sudden a javelin flies through the air behind her, making a small ruckus.

All of us were trying very hard to focus but come on, could they not restrain from throwing projectile objects all around the gym while we were practicing?

You have to be able to adapt when on the road or you're going to have a hard time winning.

Game time... got to go.

Go Sooners!
