The University of Oklahoma men's golf team played 36 holes Monday and is currently in 11th place with a 596 at The Presige at PGA West tournament. The Sooners recorded a first-round 301 and a second-round 295 at the par-72, 6,841-yard La Quinta Resort Mountain Course in La Quinta, Calif.
OU was led by sophomore Brodie Flanders (Vancouver, British Columbia) who shot a 72 (E) in the first round and a 75 (+3) in the second round. He is currently tied for 25th place. One shot behind Flanders is freshman Anthony Kim (LaQuinta, Calif.) who recorded a 75 (+3) and 73 (+1), respectively and is currently tied for 33rd.
Senior Blake Martin (Stigler, Okla.) is currently tied for 51st place after carding a 78 (+6) in the first round a one-over-par 73 in the second round. Senior Martin Flores (Mansfield, Texas) is tied for 60th after recording an opening round 79 (+7) and second-round 74 (+2), while junior Brad Purcell (Norman, Okla.) finished out the scoring with a first-round 76 (+4) and second-round 85 (+13). Purcell is currently tied for 72nd.
The Sooners conclude The Prestige with the final 18 holes Tuesday.
