Sooners Roll Past OCU, 90-52, in Final Exhibition

The University of Oklahoma women's basketball team defeated Oklahoma Christian by 38 points at the Lloyd Noble Center on Tuesday night. OU had five players in double digits as Oklahoma routed OC 90-52.

The No. 21 Sooners dominated right from the opening tip, jumping out to a 28-point first half lead. OU picked up where they left off in the second half going on an 8-0 run. With just under six minutes remaining in the game, freshman Leah Rush's layup gave the Sooners their biggest lead of the game, 85-38

Senior Maria Villarroel led the Sooners for the second straight game with 17 points. She also had six rebounds. In her first starting roll, freshman Erin Higgins nailed five of nine threes for 15 points, while senior Caton Hill scored 13. The duo ranked second and third on the team in scoring.

Also scoring in double digits was Rush (11) and junior Dionnah Jackson (10).  Jackson also dished out a game-high eight assists to just one turnover.  Sophomore Antoinette Wadsworth came off the bench to grab a game-high 10 rebounds in just 12 minutes of action.

OCU's Tasha Turney led the Lady Eagles with 14 points.

As a team, OU out rebounded the Lady Eagles, 50-35, and canned 12 three-pointers to OC's three.  The Sooners shot 47.1 percent and an impressive 48.0 from beyond the arc.

The Sooners open up regular season play at the Bertha Teague Classic this Saturday Nov. 22 at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. The Sooners face Oral Roberts at 12 p.m. followed by Tulsa versus Oklahoma State at 2:30 p.m.
