NORMAN, Okla. - Two-time All-American Witt Durden (16-3) was selected as the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for the week of Jan. 20-26 as announced Monday by the conference office. The senior from Dublin, Ga., reach the 100 win mark Sunday against conferece foe Missouri when he scored a 23-8 technical fall over Chris McCormick.

"It's an honor to be named the Big 12 Conference Wrestler of the Week," said Durden. "The competition in this league is among the best in the nation and to earn this honor is a priviledge."

Third-ranked Durden also scored victories over Oregon's Jason Harless and Oregon State's Tim Norman. Norman fell by a 19-6 major decision while Harless was defeated in a 4-2 decision. Durden's victories helped the Sooners down Oregon (21-13) and Oregon State (24-15). Oklahoma did however fall to No. 20 Missouri, 25-20.

This is Oklahoma's second consecutive wrestler of the week honor. Last week, freshman Teyon Ware received the honor. Durden and Ware will return to action Sunday, Feb. 2, against Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich.
