Senior John Kidwell Named Golf World's Player of the Week

NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma senior golfer John Kidwell has been named the national collegiate men's player of the week by Golf World magazine.

The Dallas, Texas, native won his first collegiate individual title last week at the Sooner Invitational in Frisco, Texas. Kidwell shot a course-record 65 in the second round and finished with a 68 to win the tournament with an 11-under par-205. Entering this weekend, Kidwell was tied with junior Martin Flores among OU regulars for the team lead with a 71.2 stroke average.

Twenty-first-ranked Oklahoma is in action this weekend at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Rocky Face, Ga.
